Jennifer Garner Trapped in an Elevator, Goes Viral Singing Deadpool Song

Jennifer Garner‘s first appearance at San Diego Comic-Con was sadly marred by an unexpected technical problem — being trapped in an elevator for over an hour. The iconic actress, who plays Elektra in the new film Deadpool & Wolverine (and 2005’s Elektra and 2003’s Daredevil), was able to update fans (and anyone who could help) using Instagram. She is completely safe after the ordeal, but in hindsight, her Instagram post is kind of hilarious. You can watch it below:

“Hey guys?” Garner began to her Instagram audience, two minutes into the situation. “We’re stuck on this elevator… I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone.” Time passes, and then Garner says, “We’re 11 minutes into our elevator sit. It’s toasty, I’m schvitzy, I need to blot. ‘Don’t cut the blue wire,’ someone is saying.”

35 minutes into her entrapment, Garner says, “I think I heard on an episode of like The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine or something that you’re supposed to sit, so we’re sitting.” The camera pans down to her butt on the floor, and six and a half minutes later, she’s up and singing “99 Bottles of Beer” in a twangy Southern accent. At the one-hour point, some lights turn on and Garner quietly sings Madonna’s “Like a Prayer,” recently used in Deadpool & Wolverine. 12 more minutes pass and the doors are opened, with a massive hoorah following.

Why Jennifer Garner Is the Best Thing About 2003’s Daredevil

While 2003’s Daredevil received a polarizing response at the time of its release, Jennifer Garner’s take on Elektra was mostly considered a highlight.

Jennifer Garner Is One of Many Cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine

Garner’s character, Elektra, was among the many Marvel-based cameos throughout Deadpool & Wolverine. The opportunity allowed different actors to address their superhero pasts, such as the often derided Daredevil with Ben Affleck and then wife Jennifer Garner. Garner took a quippy little swipe at her ex-husband in the film; when Deadpool laments that Daredevil was erased from the timeline, Elektra quickly responds, “Oh, it’s ok.”

Other fan service cameos include Henry Cavill as Cavillrine, Matthew McConaughey as Cowboy Deadpool, Blake Lively as Ladypool, Nathan Fillion as Headpool, Wesley Snipes as Blade, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and many more. Deadpool & Wolverine is currently in theaters (and will probably stay there for two months).
